Comments: 2nd year my wife & I ran this race. Great course!! But we have an issue...on the paved trail leading up to 1stpool waterstop (8 miler)...we noticed 4 runners doubling back & they obviously didnt run the same course as the rest of the 8 milers...BUT at the award ceremony, 2 of the runners placed in the 8 miler. One girl placed first overall & this other guy won his division..i have never griped about a race before but these people obviously did not run the course...but they placed...did anyone else see this or was it just me & my wife.....?????

Pros: Challenging, not a straightforward trail running course, lots of variety in elevation and scenery, well-marked (with a couple exceptions)
Cons: Obstacle course-like, cramped running sections, lots of "ankle-twisters" (rocks, roots, etc), broken glass on the course, single-file section gave little time to react to logs/tree roots if directly behind someone
Comments: I had a good time at this race, despite the two twisted ankles. While fun, people should know that this is not a straight-forward trail run but a log jumping, ditch/mud jumping, tree root dodging course.

Comments: The race organizer did an excellent job of laying out the course. It was challenging but very fun. I will definitely do the 8mi run again next year. Recommend that runners wear old shoes as you will get wet and muddy. Also, my standard runner's water belt didn't work well as it kept getting caught on branches. I would recommend a water backpack, or if it isn't too hot, you could just rely on the three water stops. I think the organizer should advertise the race more. For as fun of a race as it was, I would think a lot more people would run it if they knew about it. I am certainly going to recommend it to everyone I know.
